AI Enforcement Engine for HOA parking — auto-detect, auto-issue, auto-notify
The SmartLotIQ AI Enforcement Engine watches every plate scan that already flows through SmartLotIQ — from your ALPR cameras, your gate controller, or staff plate lookups — applies the rules your board has configured, and automatically issues warnings, fines, or tow requests. Owners are notified by email within seconds, and your board receives a single digest email every night.
How the engine works in three steps
- Camera or gate scans a plate. An ALPR camera, gate controller, or staff plate lookup sends the read into SmartLotIQ — the same flow you already use for guest verification.
- Engine evaluates against your rules. The engine checks active passes, residents, your watchlist, and recent history against the rules your board configured (unauthorized plate, repeat offender, expired pass, watchlist hit).
- Right action fires automatically. A warning, fine, or tow request is created and the owner is notified by email (and SMS if enabled). Every action is logged in the audit trail and rolled into the daily board digest.
What's included
- Configurable rule editor — each property defines its own rules: which trigger, how many strikes within how many hours, and which action to take.
- Three escalation actions — warn (informal email), fine (formal citation), tow (queues your existing tow workflow). Hard $1,000 cap on auto-fines.
- Owner notice emails — resident or owner gets a polite, branded email within seconds of the action with the rule, plate, photo, and appeal window.
- Daily board digest — one nightly email to property admins summarizing every automated action.
- Cooldowns + duplicate guard — built-in cooldown window per (rule, plate) prevents the engine from issuing the same fine three times for the same scan event.
- Tow queue integration — tow actions reuse your existing tow workflow and email the configured tow company.
Default rules ship with one click
The "Seed defaults" button creates three sensible starter rules: (1) Unauthorized plate at the gate triggers a warning, (2) Repeat offender — 3 unauthorized scans within 24 hours triggers a $50 fine, (3) Watchlist "ban" severity hit triggers a tow request. You can edit, disable, or replace any of them in seconds.
Pricing
The AI Enforcement Engine is sold as an add-on, not a separate plan. Keep your existing SmartLotIQ plan (Small HOA, Starter, or Pro) and attach the AI Enforcement add-on for $175 per month or $1,750 per year. So a Pro customer at $799/mo would pay $799 + $175 = $974/mo total. Add or remove the add-on in one click from the Billing page — no need to change your underlying plan.
Frequently asked questions
What does the AI Enforcement Engine actually do?
It listens to every plate scan that already flows through SmartLotIQ and applies the rules your board has configured. When a rule matches, it automatically issues a warning, a fine, or a tow request, sends the resident an email notice, and logs the action for the board.
How is this different from the existing watchlist?
The watchlist alerts security in real time when a flagged plate enters. The Enforcement Engine goes further: it takes action automatically (issues a violation, charges a fine, queues a tow, sends notices) without anyone needing to click anything in the dashboard.
What rules ship by default?
Three: unauthorized plate at the gate triggers a warning, three unauthorized scans within 24 hours triggers a $50 fine, and a watchlist "ban" hit triggers a tow request.
Can I limit how much the engine can fine?
Yes. Each rule has a fine amount you set per property, and SmartLotIQ enforces a hard cap of $1,000 per single auto-issued fine no matter what.
Do owners get notified before the action takes effect?
Owners get an email the moment the engine fires. The notice cites the rule, the plate, the time, the photo (if available), the action taken, and the appeal window. SMS is sent in addition to email if your property has the SMS add-on enabled.
How is the AI Enforcement Engine priced?
It's an add-on, not a separate plan. You keep your existing SmartLotIQ plan and attach the AI Enforcement add-on for $175 per month or $1,750 per year. Add or remove it in one click from the Billing page.
Will the engine ever issue a fine I disagree with?
Possibly. The engine only does what your rules say to do. Every action has an appeal window and a void button in the dashboard, the daily board digest gives you a single place to review and reverse anything that should not have fired, and the master toggle stops the engine immediately.
Does it work with my existing ALPR camera and gate hardware?
Yes. The engine listens to the same plate-scan webhook that your existing SmartLotIQ ALPR and gate integrations already use — Genetec, Vigilant, Rekor, Flock, LiftMaster, DoorKing, HID, Linear, generic ONVIF/RTSP. No new hardware.
